Sal Curcuru is a tax attorney and CPA who helps small business owners navigate complex tax issues with practical, clear, and business-minded advice. His work sits at the intersection of tax law, accounting, and business strategy, helping clients understand not only what the tax rules require, but also how those rules affect decisions about their businesses and long-term plans. With decades of experience in taxation and accounting, Sal focuses on tax planning and advisory, entity and transaction structuring, tax projections, and resolving complex tax matters.

He has researched complex tax issues affecting clients, developed tax strategies designed to reduce tax liabilities, and prepared individual and business tax returns and projections. Sal particularly enjoys working with entrepreneurs and closely held businesses, where tax planning is often closely connected to the owner’s broader financial and business objectives. He believes clients are best served by advice that is technically sound, practical to implement, and communicated in plain English.  He also frequently speaks to groups of business owners and professionals on tax and business matters.

Vito Curcuru received his Master of Business Administration degree from Wayne State University. Afterward, he worked in a local accounting firm later becoming its tax manager. As tax manager, he was responsible for keeping abreast of current tax legislation and keeping the rest of the firm informed on current tax rules and procedures. Vito also represented clients in IRS and State of Michigan audits. His duties included setting up client accounting information systems, preparing financial statements, and performing financial statement reviews and audits.

With this extensive tax knowledge, Vito proceeded to work for a leading accounting industry software company to work with programmers in developing tax software used by CPA firms across the nation. This software addressed some of the more complex issues in the tax code.

While his work in developing tax software was rewarding, he preferred to work one-on-one with clients to guide them through the tax laws and to develop plans to help clients make their businesses grow. Thus, in 1996 Vito started his own accounting firm so he could pursue this objective.
